Pandemonium lauren oliver excerpt12/24/2022 ![]() ![]() I have no words! I had to go back and reread the last few pages because I couldn't believe it. How could Lauren Oliver do this to us?! How could she end it there?! I mean. I read it and spoiled myself, but I still can't believe what happened. As if that would stop whatever was coming next.Īnd Oh. You'll regret it." But no! Lena didn't listen to me and as I continued on, I had half of my face covered by my hands. Don't do what I think you're going to to. I soon started hyperventilating and telling Lena, " No, no, no! Don't do it. So as I read on, I started to get anxious, snapping at anyone who dared disturbed me while reading. Although, I had no idea what would happened for it to get there. I hate that I peeked and spoiled the ending to myself. However, that backfired because my heart stopped with the shock and I had to read the last paragraph as well. Every time she feared or doubted herself or came in contact with something dangerous, I was living it right alongside with her.Īs I read, I was wondering about someone's fate and I felt myself freaking out even more and I may or may not have peeked at the last sentence of the book (I so did). I was experiencing everything Lena was: every emotion, every trip and stumble, every time she wanted to give up and die, I felt it. Until this past Friday, when the itch to learn what happened to Lena came and wouldn't leave me alone. Once I heard that it had a crazy cliffhanger, I decided I could wait a bit to read it. I've put off reading this book ever since it came out. This riveting, brilliant novel crackles with the fire of fierce defiance, forbidden romance, and the sparks of revolution about to ignite. Lauren Oliver delivers an electrifying follow-up to her acclaimed New York Times bestseller, Delirium. Pushing aside thoughts of Hana and my old school, I'm pushing aside the memory of my nightmare, Links: Goodreads / Barnes & Noble / Amazon Every book she writes entrances me and leaves me wanting more.Pandemonium (Delirium #2)by Lauren Oliver She’s easily one of the best writers to hit the current YA scene. If you haven’t read anything by Lauren Oliver yet, do yourself a favor and pick up one of her books! You’ll be happy you did. All I can say is - I wasn’t expecting that, OMG, and I need book three NOW! Lauren Oliver shocked me with the ending of Delirium, and did it again with the ending of Pandemonium. We also get to see Lena fall in love again, this time with someone totally unexpected. We experience Lena’s grief, and we journey with her as she goes on a mission of her own. We meet lots of new characters, and learn that the Resistance isn’t what Lena originally thought it would be. She’s tough and strong, and learns that life in the Wilds isn’t as perfect as she imagined. Now that she’s out in the Wilds, Lena has changed so much from the girl we first met in Delirium. I literally couldn’t put Pandemonium down when I was reading. And I was right - the only character in Pandemonium from Delirium was Lena, although Lena did think about her friends and family from Portland throughout the book. But I was so happy when I heard Pandemonium was coming out! There was also a part of me that was worried as well, because with the way Delirium ended, I knew the characters I’d come to know and love in Delirium would most likely not be in Pandemonium. I thought it was a standalone, because I couldn’t imagine how the series could be continued after the dramatic ending in Delirium. I closed the book and was sad for a fews days, because I COULDN’T BELIEVE it ended the way it did. She effortlessly weaves backstory through the novel, breathing life into each character she writes.Īnyway, enough about me talking about Lauren Oliver’s amazing writing skills, and onto my review of Pandemonium! She has this amazing way of writing, where the words flow seamlessly, and the descriptions are so perfect that the entire book comes to life while you read it. All of her books are beautiful and jam packed with emotion. All of the books I’ve read by her - Before I Fall, Delirium, and now Pandemonium - have absolutely blown me away. Lauren Oliver is officially one of my favorite authors. This riveting, brilliant novel crackles with the fire of fierce defiance, forbidden romance, and the sparks of a revolution about to ignite.
